Issis is still around...

My original plan was to have Issis "take a vacation for exploring a new age" while Elpis took over her duties.  Elpis would be in world more to work on putting together the second Age exploration novel for the Myst fan base.

Issis is so involved with things inworld that the process is proving more difficult than I imagined.

Bids at auction that help pay for food are easier to get if they know it comes from Issis, and she's there.  Which wasn't that big of a deal.  I planned on using her for the auctions anyway and that's it.

But my laziness has taken over.  To switch building to Elpis, I need to move my textures over and other items.  A pretty time consuming job.

It's why I'm sitting on my butt at Inworldz too.  I haven't made time to load some textures there.

Guess my plans for Issis taking a vacation is not happening.  Not that I'm in as much anyway.  Just to do my daily duties mostly.

I am up to my 7th 10T pony now.  I have brought out a lot of animals to sell and breed.  Need to do some thinking over next few weeks.  I may need to send many to heaven and truly specialize.  10Ts, Taos, and Legend Bubblies for ponies....epics excluded and the new roan coats too, until they stop selling.  Shibas, Dobermans, Chis, and Labs for dogs.

Tough call...I want to do them all!  Ten dogs so far and many more pony coats. LOL  But as food expense is about 6500L a week now, I must budget.  Focusing one group on traits only for the 10Ts will help me be able to have more coats.  Dogs can't interbreed so I'll have to rotate between the breeds.

Got my 5th 10T Pony

I totally expect Biobreeds to do an update soon and release an 11th possible trait on the ponies.  So many of us are getting the 10 traits now.

I'm happy with my crew on trait count.  I've gotten 3 Fairy Dust, 1 Dapple Rustic, and 1 Legend Bubbly with the 10 traits so far.  I expect to add Dapple Tao to that list soon.  Plus keep making more.  I've only sold one of them and kept the rest for my own breeding.  Trying to make a male 10T that's not the Fairy Dust Roan.  When I do, I plan on selling my original male.

In dogs, my current specialty is Licorice Chihuahuas.  Pepi's line to be precise.  I'm quite fond of that little pixel cutie, so his line is being taken special care of.   I've sold some of his babies too, so when the babies of those babies come to auction with new traits, I can buy them and intermingle to improve the line.

I'm supposed to be on break while working extra.  Well, cut back.  I'm breeding at 1000prims of animals instead of my normal 4000.  And it's good.  I get plenty of crates...but not sure I'll make it as long as I should.  Really, really thinking of adding another plot of land to put out 200 more animals.  I know, my bad.

Supposed to wait until March...not sure if I can.  Am thinking of doing the ones I'll feed to heal now...some of those will be for sale too.  I've made a new barn for it.  Getting ready to make a bunch more models too.

Healing the ones to sell now wouldn't be an awful idea...for ponies, it's most of what I have in inventory.  I've gotten more than enough 9 and 10T ponies that I'm switching over to just breeding those.  Except for special trait circumstances, like the epics and specific trait combinations.

As a side note, I'm officially not breeding Amarettos now.  Just havened the last of the horses this morning.  And I'm not feeling sorry.  I did keep some bundles in inventory in case the future looks more interesting for them...or for when they do the double haven points days if it does not.  I do have enough to get another haven horse, but waiting to see what the next one will be before using them.  Which means I should check their site....dropped their group long ago, so should check the site out once a week to see what's new.  hehe  get a haven horse when it's time...and buy more Biobreeds stuff.

Riven...

Riven is on the iphone and I loaded quite some time ago.  And then work got in the way and I stopped playing it after I had started it.  I love this game.  But I've lost my place.  Going to have to restart the game.

Both Myst and Riven work wonderfully on the iphone and I really hope Cyan keeps bringing out more of the Myst games on it.  Especially if they're able to get Exile out...it's the hardest one to find.  Riven on iphone for $4.99

Second Life is buggy as always.  They've forced out a few more good 3rd party viewers with their constant upgrading and fixing what isn't broken while not fixing what's really broken.  Sometimes keeping up with technology and trying to stay on top isn't all it's cracked up to be.

InWorldz has the grid still in its youth bugginess, but still a very nice place to escape from SL's insanity.  IW is great for just enjoying building.  Working on a store there.  It's going very, very slow.  Still need to take time and get textures loaded, which does take awhile.

The Biobreeds 10T Ponies

The big trait goal with Biobreeds ponies is getting 10 traits total.

I've had 2 10 traits so far, in Roan Fairy Dust.  Not a breed I'm actually trying for, but I ended up with a small herd of them anyway.

Now I'm trying to get the 10T in the Legend Bubbly.  This is a new coat that came out at the same time as the roan moonlight and roan sunlight.  Both of the roans are popular with breeders and sell well, but no one wants the Legend Bubbly's.  Pity.  They are pretty.

I started with a 2 trait male and now have a herd of 12 legend bubbly ponies breeding - all with 8 or 9 traits.  That's a few months worth of breeding and still no 10T.  A few of the 9Ts run out of seeds soon too.

The hold up for me was that yellow eye.  The original male had it and it's a bugger to get rid of.  Took three generations for me to start phasing it out.  Seems that the strongest eye to fight that yellow is the celestial eye.

I'm also crossing some a little with the dapple tao.  I have a few 9t offspring, and some 8t, that are tao from the legend bubbly herd.  The male I started with hid the coat and is passing it down throughout the generations well.

LOL dummy me birthed a 9T tao male from two legend bubbly parents this morning.  I read it as legend bubbly and thought it would replace one of the soon-to-run-out-of-seeds males.  Guess it will go into the other herd and I'll be reseeding a main male.

My two 10 traited roan fairy dust male and female just bred today.  Should be a strong pairing.  They're mother and son.

The Amaretto Death

For my ranch anyway....

For the few Amaretto horses I chose to keep, which is actually only four, I chose to get spots at Amaretto Wonderland.  Thought it was safe there - ran by Amaretto management.

But it's closing now.  Seems that management can't even find time to handle the sims they have...sims that have been there since the beginning.

So not impressed.

And, I'm sorry, but this speaks volumes of the future of Amaretto in general to me.  I have no faith in them staying on now, and am backing out.

I have three lives still for sale - 3 Xmas LEs.  I marked the two pg girls down to 500L and put 1000L on the stud.  Hope they sell before closing day.

The four I chose to keep and breed, I guess I'll take home and work for awhile.  I have food saved up that I already paid for - may as well use it.  May actually haven everything left after that point and get out totally.

Jan 5 2013 Breedables restart

Seems so weird.  Only breeding 63 breedables now, after nearly 2 years...or maybe more than 2 years of having 250 breeders going.

I'm officially a Biobreeds person now.  It just makes more sense:
Animals cost a lot less to feed.
They can be reseeded, which really protects your breeding line.
When they run out of seeds, they don't eat to keep as pets.
Biobreeds are generous - free food Tuesdays, free packs at auctions, free epics every so often.
Cost for the epics are better.
When sales are low, selling one for 100L means feeding two animals for a week, and it's a lot easier to sell them for a low price as 100L than other breedables.
They're so much better on the grid...their scripts are much more better made than the competitor's.
They are great for interacting with.  Except I'd personally would like it better if the ponies actually liked the dogs instead of running away from them.  Creates issues on parcel set ups. LOL

Now, I did keep a small line of KittyCats.  They're great to have for fun in a small number.  I'm guessing that if I was to hang out with the auction crowd with them as I do the Biobreeds crew, I'd probably find them as worthy.  Except that the males can have only one partner and they do expire and they're expensive to feed as pets or make into pets.  But the alternative is the menagerie set up is great, and they're totally wonderful people.

Meeroos, I quit long ago.  Too expensive all around and the running off is a huge minus to me.

Amaretto, still have a few around, but pretty much selling those down.  May keep a few to breed racers with higher traits from, but doubt I'll ever have a huge herd again.  They're expensive and boring, and for the areas I'm playing in, the market has given it in.  They were great as a market game, but found that breeding them isn't as much fun.

They expire at 120 days, so essentially become worthless after that.
Give duds a lot more than the others, which does take the fun out of it.
They need to be turned off more than the competitors due to scripts taxing the sims.

But the Amaretto horses are beautifully designed, the customer service is great, and extras or retired horses can be havened for points that build up to give some really cool limited editions.  Oh, and they're great for riding.

Just my opinion...really really didn't like their dogs.  I will admit I did like the schnauzers and the great danes...just still not as well done as their horses.
