About introverts...

Introverted people are often misunderstood.  I'm one of these creatures, so I know all about this.

I'm always happy, but sometimes my face is misleading.

I love people and I love knowing they're there, but often that's more than enough for me.  I don't go out of my way to socialize and in fact, I often avoid people.

But I need the socialization some, so I do have my moments when I need to be with friends and family.  When I need to actually socialize.  While this gives me a lot of enjoyment, it also wears me out mentally and physically.  Normally I need two days rest for every one day of socializing.

I'm also quiet more days than I'm outspoken.  This doesn't mean anything, other than maybe it makes me a better listener than some.  I just don't feel the need for small talk like many other people do.

Family often misunderstands and think I want to be left alone, when that's not actually the case.  Even my husband gets this wrong sometimes and we're very close.  I understand how tricky this is to get right, so I don't get upset with anyone, even when I'm sad at being left behind.

Often, being an anonymous person among many is a comfort.  I try to schedule a few days a month where I take my day's work to busy areas, like Starbucks, Panera, or Barnes and Noble.  Oddly it helps me be more comfortable introducing myself to new people.

Baristas and managers, of course, are ones I talk to a lot.  I used to manage a coffee shop and I will own one in the future.  I've worked alongside other writers and artists, a cartoonists, software specialist, students, and more.

Introverts like people.  We just suffer social stress.

This is me in Real Life.

I think this is why Myst attracted me to playing games online.  I could choose to play by myself or play with friends.  I could play in Ages occupied by other players, where I could see people and know I wasn't really alone, or I could choose a private instance.

The cool thing is that I also found my first virtual family that way.  Real people with real problems coming together inside a game to develop mental stability in dealing with life's challenges.  This has initiated a book in process with a character going through this.  I've heard of a few others with their own version of a similar idea.

My Second Life is much the same.  But more purpose driven.  We get to do more in Second Life so often I'm in doing "chores" or building.  And when I'm price shopping breedables, it's the same.  Often chat is closed and radar is ignored.  Guess I'm perceived as rude sometimes.

Sometimes I go in and sit, listening to the radio station or environment while working in Real Life.  So AFK a whole lot.  Guess that can be rude too.

Don't meant to be.  It's just who I am.

I love my friends, but there's not as many for me as there are for others.  I'm more sociable with them...or maybe I'm just a pest more often than not.  haha

New private group...

I'm not working the home store right now, although I still have plans to get it on marketplace one day and hope to create a Christmas present for people.

I cleaned out the Frosted Myst and Breedables group and made it private.  Going to invite friends into it and use it for those of us who wish to give away or trade breedables with one another.  We have plenty of spots we friends belong to for advertising the items we're actually selling, but not bartering or giving away.  There's a nice bartering group, but they still do Amaretto.  My intent is that this one be mostly Biobreeds.  But anything else is totally welcome, and I'm sure I'll announce other breedables for myself in it too.

Not sure what's up with WK.  For a week solid I've gotten only single sacks.  Perhaps I've pissed off the WK gods, not sure.  My WK normally do give twins.

Popeye and Olive Oyl gave a single female as their last baby together before taking the hobo walk.  Nice traits, prehistoric teeth and extra long whiskers - but regular size and low level 2, no eye.  I set it aside to perhaps do something with it later on.

Whiskey and Honey go next... but debating on Whiskey... maybe he should wait for this latest girl...must think on that, quickly.  They'll drop soon.

Saw a hint of a surprise on Halloween day from WK.  If it's a random drop, then pooh.  A one-day random drop for a breedable with 2 weeks growing time to hit 100 for the first time and ten days in between sacks is no fun for most people.  It leaves out the small breeders.  Their week long random eye drops for the month of October included everyone and that was a very good thing.

Doing well on WK numbers - they'll be down where I want them shortly.

Happy that Biobreeds is doing another random drop.  Sad that Smmu did't get the dalmation one.  I checked this morning.  lol  I didn't either.  That's okay...I really just wanted Smmu to get one.  Maybe she'll get a pony or exotic one.

Biobreeds numbers are figured out.  Just have extras to try to sell before heavening.  I'm using my traffic counters and giving them so long to go, based on how many people have seen them.  This week a bunch of nice lineage shibas go if they don't sell.  Next week the spot will be used to show my extra dobes or gs and give them a chance... er, some of them.  It will be a slow process - I have a lot and it will be as I can afford to heal them.

Still have on my wishlist that BB animals just go dormant in inventory.  I'd really keep more if they did, but I've found that healing and reseeding both is just way too expensive for me.

In fact, I think all breedables should have a dormant state.  The market has grown to the level where I believe this could be an asset to both the breeders and creators, rather than a means of abuse.

Still, Biobreeds got my vote in the choice awards, as did Camelot Ranch, and of course, some of my D'ni family.  http://avichoiceawards.wordpress.com/enter-your-nominations-here/#contact-form-444

Ebony is in Second Life now

Ebony is the real life dog I introduced in a previous posting...

A black Great Dane I rescued from a puppy mill, where she was stuck in a small crate as a 8 week pup.  Kept there until I got her.  Never cleaned.  Never given a bigger crate.  She grew up in waste.  The crate "squished" her.  She had bones so soft she was walking on her knees by the time I got her at six months old.

She was black with white on her nose and chest, and a bit on her feet.  Not a perfect match to any of the BB Great Dane coats, but I have her memory covered.

My danes have thrown a Harlequin, Black Mantle and a Black Night.  All females, of course, as all 11 babies have been females so far.

The Harlequin is called Paisley.  The Black Mantle is Ebony and Ivory.  And the Black Night is Ebony.

Been seeing a lot of new BB people.  Think that's great.

Amazed at the number of KC people.

See more dwindling on the Amaretto end of things.  Wonder if they'll do some small changes like letting people see the sex on the bundles, to encourage more breeders?  Doubt it.  That doesn't seem to fit into their personal plans and if your need or suggestion doesn't fit with their own, then it doesn't count.

I had a passing desire to get into breeding a few of those...but it passed.  \

WK prices are way lower than the creators wanted, but I think they'll continue to grow.  People just aren't going to spend the higher linden amounts for a breedable as often anymore.  Maybe they saw themselves taking Amaretto's place in high dollar breedables, but I truly think those days are over.  You're just not going to see as many 100-400K pixel sales.

As it is, prices really are out there at a level where people may be willing to invest in.  I see this as a good thing.  I try to keep my prices where the norm is, not where they say we "should" be.  There are a few die hard nay-sayers on this who don't feel the excellent creators and the excellent product they have is enough to keep it going.  I don't agree.  The day this "market talk" gets out of hand is the day I pull them from my stores.  Give away to friends the ones I don't use or send them away for points.

Got three weeks to cut back to where I need to be.  It's going really good.  Then I'm going to reassess my KittyCats.  I may try to go further with them if I can.  Prims won't matter with them seeing as the cattery is there to use.

Starter angst....

There's a reason I'm not a starter person in the breedables.  They can drive me batty!  So glad I was too linden poor to go as high with the danes as I wanted.

Out of ten starters - 2 males and 8 females, I've now had the first crate from all 8 females.  All 8 were females.  Only 2 showed anything new.  And of the rest, none were trait loaded.

In other words, I don't know what my starters are carrying for sure.  I know two carry a new coat, and I have that narrowed down to 50/50 chance of guessing which one has the coat.

This means another 10 day wait before I can tell which ones to keep, which ones to let go of, and the same for their babies.  Right now I have a flat price of 500L on their babies.  Some will come down to 200 or 300 once I know something of whom carries what.

Now, I can say I don't get the angst in the fishies.  They seem to show hiddens pretty quickly, allowing you to make your choices right away.  I like that.

Got solar storm shade on the green and white betta today.  Yay!

Wow, my animals are mad at me!

Don't think my breedables like me very well.  All drops from all types was crappy coats or low levels and lacking traits.  One of the WK couple gave a lesser level coat and they were the hot producers last time.  LOL

Saw triple coat husky offspring go for little bit of nothing last night at auction.  Man, I really wanted to piss people off by chewing them out.  I may hate the market talk, but cheap selling that line is a slap in the face to the ones who worked so hard to create it.  It's a special line.  No way to treat your friends.  Little pissed about it.

So wish I'd win the lotto. I'd try to get as many as I can with that line to sell to me, heaven the lesser ones and give the rest to the original breeder and get that line fixed.

My display for that line was getting full, so I culled.  Sent a few live offspring to heaven, and the one shaded crates.  Birthed the two triple shades I had out for sale for live sales.  Not lowering my prices so they won't sell, I'm sure.  May as well make them work while they're there then.

I did cut the shiba prices down but they're not selling.  I am thinking about culling all except 5T ones to make room.

Anxiously waiting for the next two rounds of crates from Great Danes.  I got two females I want and then will keep a blue one for myself, and choose a male to keep.  Selling the rest or heavening.  Ready to get to it!

And it's time to cull heaven offspring.  The spots are getting full.  Managed to sell two at auction last night, so that helps.  Kind of surprised.  The Heaven and Hellish offspring aren't selling as easy as I expected.  Me thinks perhaps not letting the hair pass along with the eye may have hurt.  Not sure why they didn't let those pass.  They'd be more valuable to me if they did, to be honest.

Side comment: wish whoever has that stupid auto spammer in The Farm group would be taken out.  Why send ads there or leave the group up when that stupid thing is going off constantly?  People who abuse those tools give the rest of us users a bad rep.

Also, not too impressed with Google's blog system.  Thinking of going elsewhere.

Gonna take FOR-E-V-ER

Finally realized I'm done learning all I can from my Second Life.  Time for the next chapter.  And time to get my Tyme back.  Tyme is my real life horse.  We've been apart for many years.  I plan on correcting that issue in the spring.  My friend took this picture of him last week for me.

So...Second Life preparations are underway.  Wild Kajaera, Pet Peddlers, and KittyCats are easy.  I started out managing my population of those right away.  Will take me a week to work out their prim count needs.  Maybe just a day.

Biobreeds, on the other hand. Oiy!

I am ever so thankful I started heavening anything not on the top of the list long ago.  And still it's a mess!

I started my lists and it's going to take a bit to get through them.  Think I'll heal 25 at a time when I can and set them out for sale.  What doesn't sell after so much traffic will get heavened.  At least give my friends a chance at them.

Not quitting.  Nothing like that.  Just may go down to a few days a week in SL, and eliminate most of my expenses.

I pay for extra land.  More than what my critters pay for.  Why?  It's my allowance, but why there when I could save it to get my Tyme to me?  It's the thought running through my head ever since my friend sent me that picture yesterday.

I also realized I've been thinking about this the wrong way.

I've been wondering how to play Second Life.  How my priorities have changed.  But they haven't.  I'm just ready for the next chapter.

Hard to explain, but totally different way of thinking.

Also planning ahead for my epic purchases.  I'll still buy the special editions in BB and KC.  Just won't breed them as much and may give some as donations away for the sims I support.  Good for raffles.  Especially for my RFL donations.  Those will still go through breedables.

No WK.  They're too expensive.  I commend their efforts at trying to build a strong second market from the start.  Just don't think it works.  People don't operate that way.  Starters are too expensive for my budget and their special editions are way too expensive.  MAYBE I'd make the next RFL an exception.

Going to give away my Imaginimals.  Not doing those now as I just don't have the time to commit.

No Amaretto.  They bore me and lurking in chats has shown me that the attitudes still aren't what I appreciate.

May expand in Inworldz though.  Get started with Pet Peddlers full force there.  Maybe I should be a sea captain with my own ship!  LOL

They get treats again....

Well attention anyway.  My great danes decided to give me two coats this time.  A Harlequin and a Black Mantle.  So they got taken out for a walk and swim.

My animals have done really well yesterday.  Got a nice 4T white shiba with the Heaven Eye too.  Thinking I'll keep her for breeding, but haven't fully decided yet.

Sales stalled so my pay it forward has stalled too.  Sniff!  Thinking I'll go through and heaven a bunch and birth some more new.  Sent a lot of nice line 3T shibas away already.  And one of the double ribbon Appaloosa pennies.  Need to open up spots for the danes.  I'm only keeping a few.

The Harlequin girl is named Paisley.  Named the Black Mantle Ebony and Ivory.  Just need the Black Night one to call it Ebony after my Ebony.  A rescue Dane I owned awhile back.

She was black and I rescued her from a puppy mill through the shelter I ran.  She had been in the puppy mill since 8 weeks old but never tended to.  Stuck in a tiny crate, even as she outgrew it.  Crap piling up.

At six months I got her.  It was touch and go.  Her bones were so soft, she walked on her knees.  My father built a special crate for her, as I could only let her out 15 min a day.  Special food, light exercise, lots of love and she was walking upright in a few months like a normal dane.

Two years she stayed with me, then had to be put down for serious bone pain from the experience.

Update and Sales Progress...

Not talking about my Great Danes.  In fact, I'm not talk TO my Great Danes right now.  When they decide to drop a new coat and something I actually want, then we can talk.  No treats for them!

Huskies did great.  Changing who I'm keeping again.  The Ciel Twinkle Blush boy gave his shades onto the purple coat which I like better, so keeping his son.  Love Me 3 Times will not go out for sale.  He will go back to the original Triple Threat home.  That line may have been abused, and I may not be rich enough to find them, bring them back in, and repair the damage, but I will do my small part when I can.

This is where I agree with selling higher and sticking to it.  Some got sold cheap and then bred cheap.  And then offered again cheap.  It mucked up the line.

Trying to avoid that with my WK lines...different with this in the way that it doesn't matter what happens to the babies that get sold.  This is my line's status within my own breeding program, not with what's out there at large.

But my levels in the line I'm wanting to get certain things are throwing the certain things, but in level one coats.  So, it's not, "Oh! I'll just save that for the next matching sack."  It's something to set aside and think again about just exactly what from the line to put it with.

Me thinks my plan of knocking back to 10 WK is going to be very tricky indeed!

Sales were good this week and I was able to do a lot of paying it forward after meeting my expenses.  Felt good to be able to do that again.

3k in biobreeds, 3k in pet peddlers, 1500 in wk, and 100 in kc.

None of the strong lined shibas sold.  They've had their boxes so I may super sale them and heaven what doesn't sell this week.  Some of them maybe.  5t will stay out for proper amount.  I'll have to check the lines to be sure.  Thinking most of the lines have been shared enough by now that it doesn't matter.  I want to make room for the new lines I want to create.

D'ni Family Night - Thursday CCCP

Beach does such a great job designing the Lake Bottom Dance Floor

It was great to see Harp again.  Been so long.  I miss Myss Terrie's Bevin days.
This is me, Harp and Charlottemarie

And Smmubert made it in to wave her brains on a stick around.

This is our family, brought together through the creations of Cyan Worlds, Inc.  They created the various games of Myst, Uru, and Riven.  Our love for them is very strong, as shown by our support of MystOnline that runs through donations and the first day's progress for Cyan's new game they're wanting to create called Obduction.  If you want to support a game company who you can trust and believe in, give to their kickstarter.

My live sales...

I have a lot of crates I wanted to birth and use but won't get to.  Figure while I have the time to play with them a bit, I'll birth them and set them out for sale.  Then keep for more future sales the crates the ones who don't sell give.  Eventually most all out will be sent to heaven if they don't sell.  (There are exceptions, such as epics and the actual breeders that are not for sale.)

But I've chosen fun and colorful ones to show off.  Good prices.  Although I can't say my shibas are out for cheap.  Try as I might, there's still certain lines I'd just rather take the eventual 5 biochips than lower their price.  These shown are all on the Camelot market sim.

Awe, ain't he cute!  He's a sweetie.  I'd keep him if I didn't have one exactly like him already.  Lost my heart to their long whiskers on that coat.  The cougar has tiger eyes.  And the little newborn cheetah in the corner is a large size.  I'll admit.  I birthed him cause I had to check it out.

And yes, I've decked out my main store in Myst.  They're laying on Sharper's rug, and the backdrop is Kveer, one of my favorite ages.

Keeping the lavender and puce exotics running, and I've made enough to show off at sales area.  One of these is off of sale cause she's going back to the ranch for Smmubert's side.  The appaloosa pennies are from the RFL Hope epics and they have the double ribbon traits.  I'm up to 3rd gen on this.  No one likes the pennies but me, but this is a fun group to breed.

Shibas are so wonderful with the traits!  Still one of my favorite dogs to breed.  They MAY end up with a higher allowance that two sets from me.  Need to count how many equinoxes I have to breed first...kind of went overboard with those.  LOL

Favorite Pairings...

I've cut back a ton on my BB, but still have a huge excess that I need to get rid of.  I feel that having a favorite pair of the breeds to keep as breeders is a good plan.  I'm think 4 total - 2 I allow out to breed at a time, and 2 stored in inventory.  And I can rotate between the two.

I'm starting with huskies first.  I chose a triple shade pair, since my triple male made a daughter with the rose shade I love.  Then two of my polar nights I have in inventory already...the muddy paws pair.

So the excess are being healed and then will be offered at 300-500L after.  What don't sell after a certain amount of days will be heavened.

Decisions made

I THINK I've decided how to fit SL in my life without going mad and without having it interfere so much with RL.  Maybe...

I will play with my land and my animals as my RL game allowance lets me.

New purchases will be based on direct sales and auction sales.  Not buying at auction unless there are sales.  And this could be sad for me.  No sales right now and there's one in today's I really want.  Won't happen though...this one will be too high, even if I get one sale or even if my panel sells.

Not going to sweat the auctions...if I get an early panel, I'll try to do The Farm and Camelot auctions.  I am "free" in my own house, but for both auction times, my ability to be there during the last half is really getting more and more iffy.  Nothing bad.  Both auctions are ran well and at good times, just got some life obligations making it hard to be available for more than 1/2 hour to hour at a time.

Don't have this issue other times because I can just go afk when a need arises, no biggee if it's something that takes an hour or multiple hours even.  I freelance so this happens a whole lot.

But...I'm going to live my life the way I need to during auctions and not sweat what anyone thinks should I need to go afk.  Things like that start getting challenged, then I'll think about just not doing them.  I DO buy and pay it forward when I have sales.  And my attendance is a show of support.

And I try not to take advantage of the raffles that I don't have true need of...
I wear the grower robes as my RP D'ni person, so I do not join the contest, unless it happens to match my everyday wear.  Likewise, I don't join for the Shade or Drake raffles as they're something I won't use.  I donate for the giveaway raffles so don't join those.  Well, during new release I do join in the sack raffle, or if I want to start a new line of something.  And I do join the paid raffles - my way of showing auction support, even when I can't buy a panel.

This said, I'm debating next week's auctions.  Maybe a break is in order.  Think the weather is messing with me.  I got a little irritated at something at last auction...but not until hours after the auction.  So weird!  May need a break to let my bitchy side calm down a bit.  LOL

I'll see how I feel over the weekend.  Life is stressful right now, as I'm sure it is for all.  Especially those of us stateside.  Nervous times.

But I did take the emphasis off of sales.  Heavened most of my low priced BB crates, sent away the excess WK sacks.  Kept the KC area at Camelot the same, but birthed three key BB babies and 2 WK babies for those sections instead of the unbirthed animals in the main store.  What unbirthed animals I kept went to our personal sales yard with prices reduced.

Don't ask me why, but I'm still breeding the double ribbon traited penny appaloosas.  No one wants those, but for some reason I like them.  So they're still in the small Camelot corral.  Birthing the lavender and puce exotics to set out for sale, cause they're pretty.

In large corral, I picked up most and birthed a buttload of shibas.  They're for sale, except for the Heavenly group.  I know sales aren't "important" to me, but they're set where they should be...just couldn't set prime line ones for so little.  Maybe later.  Didn't get the eye on a special line one, but set it aside with 3k on it.  May birth some from the line to work back into it, unless someone sees its value and steals it before then.

It's hard trying to work out who to keep and who to let go.  Luckily I started right away with WK on a good rotation so that's not so bad.  I'm doing the same with the fish, and KCs are settled in their routine.  But BB.... gosh - still have so many in storage. I won't use all those!

Really need to start healing and heavening.  Deseeding those I want to keep for later.  Etc. Etc.  Slow process and so hard to decide who to do what with!  LOL

So, my jabbering is done.  Another decision I've made.  Blogging is information and sharing the new stuff or experiences with breedables.  A fun, lively blog only.  See how this works out...

Little better...

I am anyway.  Second Life, on the other hand, is really messed up this morning.  Even in areas not set for restarts today.  I wouldn't be surprised if they do a grid wide restart day.

Got an interesting fish:
Breed: NO_DATA
Eyes: NO_DATA / Shade: NO_DATA
Fins: Light Red / Shade: NO_DATA
Bubbles: d10b56e8-a60f-a1c9-bc48-93a2b95126a4 / Shade: NO_DATA / Color:
Body Shade: NO_DATA / Tail Shade: NO_DATA
Sex: Male

LOL Too early for pet peddler management to be on, so letting it sit awhile.  The fish are in the sleep cycle so maybe it will connect after they wake up.  Then I'll let Bluntz and Fisher know how it played out.

Still thinking of taking some sort of break in SL, just not sure what kind.  My issue with time may get better in another month or two.  My issue with people may not.  Depends on if we learn to play nice together or not.

I must be odd.  For some reason, I know sometimes things come out wrong and just let it go instead of staying mad.  I was proud of myself last night.  I still went to the auction even though someone had said something that kind of pissed me off earlier.  I exchanged as if nothing had happened, and you know what?  It was okay!  It was fun.  Of course, Lance has a way of making things fun...too fun sometimes and that gets him, and us in trouble sometimes.  LOL  But that's okay.  And Thank God we have someone to help keep us in line.

I noticed other people hanging on to grudges within the game.  Again, I must be odd.  That's not worth it to me.  If I'm going to be that way, I may as well just leave the game all together.

As usual, once again, I'm close to people on both sides of a "disagreement".  I'm used to that.  Happens to me in Real Life all the time too.  Why should it be different here?  They're behaving, so not getting caught in the middle.  Thank God.  Although I still feel it.  Kind of sad.

And I'm anti-sociable.  LOL

Been posting on sales mattering and not mattering.  Makes me look a little bi-polar in the blog.  LOL

Okay - linden sales don't matter, although they're welcome and they are an indication of what should or should not be bred.

Sales in general do matter because, while I love breeding, I would like to be able to rotate out their babies without sending all of them to their next level of existence.  I have high standards on what gets set out and what gets sent away.  Wish all others did too and only put out the top of the line stuff.

Won't happen.  We're natural hoarders and some concentrate on the possible linden too much.  Even I do.  I've been sending BB away like mad and still have folders full of lives and crates.  Can't seem to part with everyone.  LOL

I am going to go through and send away the excess from the sales areas.  4 traited dog crates may go, many good bred out coats will go.  May switch my Camelot store to just selling lives.

I may still hoard the left over RFL offspring WK sacks though and not send them away.  Why, I don't know.  Mine make good enough babies to birth replacements.

If I was smart....

I'd take a long SL break.

Little bit pissed, and I may not be rightly so.

(edited to take out what could be taken wrong)

It's not that bad, really.  I just should not be in SL for awhile.  I have way too many commitments going on and taking things too personal.

But I do need to think things through.  Maybe I should heaven all excess and just breed at home for awhile, no selling.

Smmubert and I can quietly play on our own salesyard.  No one's obligated to visit or buy from us.

Will think on it.  Just know I'm not doing any patron auctions.

Sorry if anyone finds this and is offended.  Life's a real cluster right now for me and just venting, most of which I took out...

Last Hoorah! for awhile?

I don't know.  But I'm in a position where having to take a breedable break is very real.

Not sure why, but it seems the government shutdown have people not buying.   If most of our regulars are government employed I didn't realize it!  LOL

I forgot to figure in for a few things, so the WK population isn't as bad as I said.  But still high for the number of people who are in.  Think us early breeders will just have to be patient while they attract new people and the group grows to handle a good rotation of buying and selling.  I do manage to sell a 350L sack here and there, so can't complain.  Sticking with my 20 limit though, as they produce enough to keep me stocked.  If my sales were up, I'd probably just buy cheap to resell rather than birth more breeders anyway.  At 21 prims each they take a lot.

The fish are doing great.  Haven't sold any yet, but I've gotten over a dozen bags out.  When my starters birth later this week, I'll do a lot of chumming and figure out my final total on them.  Think I'm mainly going to do green and white bettas and seahorses with a few predators.

Well, without sales to keep my bills paid, and having to fix some financial matters in real life, I'm a little stuck.  We're okay...just have some things to deal with for family between now and spring.

I'm going to give myself the last of what I can and then see where it goes from there.  Sad...made myself an aquarium home that I like.  Would hate to lose it.  But then, it didn't impress some as I thought it would.  Had thought of offering copies for sale, but if it failed to impress my friends, may not be worth it.

Already put myself out there in Real Life.  When you build something special in SL - or when I do - it's also a part of me.  Rather not know people aren't impressed.  LOL

Great Danes come out today.  I've been waiting FOREVER for them.  And while I can't do the full 50 I wanted to now, I'm going to do a bunch.  One last Hoorah?  perhaps.  Nonetheless, I plan on having fun with it.

I say no more...

The title reference is to my thoughts on Biobreeds traits.

For a long time I kept posting that I want the 11th pony trait.  And I really did, until yesterday.

I was heavily into Amaretto and think it's a good product.  But they've done too much with it.  I walked markets yesterday to see what the newest coats were and saw the new haven horse.  Wow, perhaps the market hasn't crashed and it's still there, but it's definitely not the healthy market it was when I bred Amaretto.  Looks like I got out at right time.

And the traits...I see the traits as a real contributor to this.  There's too many.  It's cluttered up the breeding.  I don't want to see my BB ponies ruined this way.

I do enjoy seeing all the custom designer Amaretto horses though.  Some of the combos are super cool looking.

Biobreeds was always a variety product and that's what attracted me to them in the beginning.  I've been very happy with how they've brought out new breeds.  And how there's no interbreeding of the dogs.  And how we get to reseed them.  Really makes them more valuable to me, and with them, I know I have something to have for next year.

Only wish is that they'd go dormant in inventory.  Sometimes it is necessary to cut back on land for a few months or to leave SL for RL reasons for a bit.  Very inconvenient to have to heal the animals you bring out of storage.

As it is for rotation breeders like me.  I keep a set number of breeders out at a time.  When it's time to rotate to another from storage, I have to heal them first or wait for them to heal.  May have to see what Ozzie says on this.  They do give other perks so this may be one of the few ways they get to keep an income flowing.  It may not be easy for them to fill this need.

I do see that pet peddlers and Imaginimals have it so theirs go dormant in inventory.   If I'm not mistaken, WK cats still eat while in inventory as long as the person has food purchased on the grid somewhere.  While this is an option it would cause me to let go of a lot and start over in many of my breeding...I have a ton of BB in storage with seeds still.  My food wouldn't last even a day and all of them would starve!

Smmubert's dogs sleep on water.

Now that I found a nice spot to relax, I have to get back to work.

So far...meh...

My sales update is "meh".  The weekend is usually when I get the traffic sales and there weren't the sales this weekend.  In fact, weekend traffic was way down all over.

So...I am breaking one of my rules at auction today.  Setting out a biochip pair for way cheap.  I shouldn't...I mean it cost me 50K in food and tiers expense to earn the female.  The male isn't too bad - I purchased him from someone else.  But I'm only asking for a 20k start bid.

If they sell, I know I'll regret it, but it's one of those times when you must do what you must do.  My L's are gone, so time for some planning ahead so I don't have to close up shop for awhile.

If they don't sell, that's really not a good sign at all.  And I'll have to do some thinking on my next step.  Not speculating on what that will be until the time comes.  It'll be working towards not having to close up for a few months.

When it comes to Biobreeds, I really am working on thinking in terms of what it cost me to make or buy an animal/crate when it comes to setting them out for sale.  I'm no longer in the party trying to keep the prices up to a fair amount.  People just are not interested in that for buying, nor selling.

My guide:
Base start is 150L... since it costs me 100L to make a BB animal, 150L is the absolute less I'd take in sales versus just turning it in for biochips.
Epics are priced based on their rarity, timing, unique look, passable traits, potential for future goals, and what all this is worth to me.  I've let a lot go already, actually.
Additions to the sales price is based upon:
Line - type and purity
Parents - Epic influence based on types of traits possible, if they're cool and popular, and if the trait actually passed on ...  Biochip epics demand a 300L minimum sales price on ones not showing the eyes, good offspring with eyes showing or not is 350-1500L based on what the other parent is and total number of traits.
Traits - some types will warrant higher pricing...5T and up in dogs will warrant higher price...10T ponies and exotics warrant higher price...certain combinations that appeal to me and I like to keep around may warrant higher pricing
What's it worth to me?  If the crate is something I'd like to birth and use after one is deseeded, I may mark the price up.
Coat difficulty - if the coat is hard to pass on, that adds to the price.  In exotics, Salvadors, Roys, Henris, Lavender, Puce, and Oceans are ones that come to mind right away.  I'm still pricing those at 500L, although some may come down to 350L in another few weeks.
Good deseeded breeders are priced mostly at 300L each.  That's a fair pricing for a pet in my honest opinion.  Priced a few ponies for a little less and a few very good traited ones for closer to 500L.

On the WK...it's not working out so well.  I do think I'm just playing now to save up sanctuary points.  Still trying to decide what to do, how to determine what to keep and what to let go of.  Toying with the idea of only offering the odd sized and twin sets for sale, keeping the good RFL os for myself, and letting the rest go to sanctuary.

I did figure out that although the WK cats are easy on the L's to feed, because of their breeding patterns and that you need catnip to breed them, they cost me 350L on average to make a sack.  Now, this is harder to determine because you never know if you're getting 1,2, or 3 sacks from a breeding.  But 350L for my group is the closest I can come to for an average.

Plus it is a truer estimate than BB because I factored in the cost of the parents, based on buying a starter couple.  I supposed some sacks would only cost me 250L to make because of variations in this.  But for sales I'm sticking to 350L minimum or send it to sanctuary.

I picked up my Imaginimals pair.  Tired of waiting on that update.  They've got a lot of bugs to work out yet.  I have three shells from them that will be good to use once the next update comes through.

Not sure of the bushes.  Did very well with my CannabiSL round, but "OH SO BORING!"  LOL  I doubt I'll stick with this breedable for long.

Fun stuff...

I've been asked a few times why I didn't compete in the building contest.  Well, I did have a piece started, but it was too big and I just wasn't in the mood at the time to be confined to such a small piece.  I am working on a few buildings on the side.  I think they'll go up at my deseeded corral. I'll have one rezed out at a time and the others on a vendor board with a picture of them.

I did have a few pieces that would have fit.  I could have set them out and tweaked them.  But I'm honestly swamped right now...not sure if I'm coming or going.  Had an unplanned workday away from the house yesterday due to one kid needing something...and was just hinted that we may have to do something with the other tonight.  I'd rather stay home.  LOL I do need to dig out more jewelry for the Christmas fair table.

Eww...tried a new coffee with herbal undertones this morning and just took a sip.  Perhaps putting the chocolate/caramel creamer in it wasn't a good idea.  LOL

Had a deseeded Biobreeds patron auction this week.  Of course, it wasn't as L-lucrative as before, but I'm very happy.  Cleaned out the lives in storage.  I'm not one to "own" a line and keep it all to myself - mainly because I believe mixing in new blood helps the lines.  And I've discovered that keeping the lives forever just isn't working for me...I end up with babies to use instead.  So I'm starting a deseeded store area.

Good day yesterday with biobreeds.  Got a lavender exotic, a roy turtle exotic with st paddy's hair, and a few more chips.  I birthed the female hellish dobe and set the extra male with her at The Farm store.  I just am not selling them cheap as others are, so they may be around awhile.  When I have extra Ls I'll pick up one from someone else selling cheap to set out for resell.  Give me stock to sell and help someone with their weekly food bill.

And the tigers were really good as well.  A pair I kept for myself and was banking on came through with triplets.  Two females and a male.  Two were level fives.  I kept the level five Sumatran Jambi to go with my padang male I got last week.  The other two go into tomorrow's Camelot auction.

Auctions... think I'll have to leave tomorrow's early, which is probably going to be the norm for many.  And I hope to make it to the end of Thursday's auctions to get a spot at the Farm for Monday's.  I am out of spending money but should have visited last night's auction for moral support.  But was totally beat after 8 hours away from home, of which 3 hours was driving time.

And to be honest, being scarce for awhile may be a good thing.  I don't friend my breedable friends so I don't get "business calls" on a game, which is a game to me, and all those tp requests and so forth that people think other people want all the time for auctions to come spend money.  I'm a RL copywriter who detests being sold to.  Why my work is more informational than advertisement.

And I spent a lot this week that I'm still not caught up with, even with the patron auction.  That attracts attention, and I've gotten a lot of "hey, I just put out (breedable) that you may be interested in" IMs afterward.  I'm sorry, friends.  I appreciate you're trying to inform those who may be interested and probably giving me first chance in many cases, which I emphasize that I really do appreciate.  But that approach isn't for me.  Send spam in the ad group.  Rent a shop at Camelot or The Farm.  Those odd moments when I want to shop...I'll check those places.  Usually I just choose two or three auctions a week and just shop there though..when I have L's, which is dwindling way too fast...I could be down to just a few breedables within a month if things don't change.

And I have to admit, I'm WAY overloaded now.  Anything I do get for quite awhile now is: very specifically traited (and no, I'm not looking for anything specific), something I want to resell, or a cheap buy to get 5 biochips.

Fish and seahorses: definitely done buying for a long time.  I have about sixty of them now, and birthed all I could...still have about 35 or so to work my way through.

Biobreeds: I'm set. Don't need any.

Cannibi:  Good there for a long time now.

KittyCats:  Not interested in buying, although I will admit.  Got my eye on a cheap mega right now that someone better buy quick!

Imaginimals: Sticking with the two I have now.  Haven't birthed the three babies from them yet.  Waiting to see what changes/improvements the next update gives.  They still have a long ways to go in movement performance.  If the next update doesn't improve it much, I may let the two adults go and just hang on to the shells while they finish beta.

Wild Kajaera Cats:  Oh, I'm really set for awhile.  At my food budget limit now, with an extra male who should be sent to sanctuary really.  Waiting to make sure no friends want to take him on though first.

Lillith really missed Bram Stoker after he swam out to see and was lost.
Luckily, he was rescued right after this was taken.

The cats had a secret meeting together at the scratching post.
I was nervous.

The St. Patrick's Day hair on a Roy Turtle.  Awesome.
Smmu's taking him for her side of ranch as her Roy is almost deseeded.

New Camelot Ranch home is set.
At least for a month...hoping sales justify returning to a private sim home.

Wow! Two weeks!

I knew it had been awhile since I've been here.  Two week check in seems just about right though.

Life has been very busy.  Including some fun time with my newest steampunk friends.  We went on a "Safari Hunt" to the zoo's dino exhibit together.  Twenty of us all dressed up in goofy clothes.  And one painted up as an automaton.  (He got the most attention of course.  LOL)  It was terribly fun.

My first time out with our group, and I left myself a ton of room for improvement.  Being socially unfamiliar with their normal routine, I concentrated too much on matching some color of my outfit to the theme instead of just making an outfit to be comfortable with.  It did not work so well and I looked like the town idiot that everyone adopts and takes care of.  LOL  But now I know how they work and I have a kickin outfit started for next time.

We have been working overtime and socializing ourselves exhausted, so we did skip the festival this weekend to recharge a bit.  Sorry to miss seeing my friend who I haven't seen for a year, but think it was for the best.

I was still in the midst of an SL move too.  I'm now an official Camelot Ranch tenant, as I took a large piece of land on the non-market side.  Giving up two of my mainland parcels to offset the cost, but kept our sales yard in the same area.  Mainly because I don't want to leave the beloved Zen group, even though I don't get time to hang with anyone there.  And Smmu and I love having our salesyards with Jason...he's so great to work with.

I have five Heaven and Hell epics total from Biobreeds now.  The Zulu female I put with the Hell male was the best investment ever.  Those two together make some kickin Ivory dobies.  Of course, they're making them males, and I'll only keep females.  But as long as they sell easy I don't care.  I made 3K on the first one and 2K on the second.

I was going to let my inferno pony male go at this week's patron auction, but decided I couldn't.  We love him so much, and putting him with a Hell pony just seems so right.

Still rearranging but going to be taking my epic breeding herd off sale and back home...just use the big Camelot corral for deseeded ones.  Epics and regular breeders both.  I have a building idea too that I may design and set out for sale there.

KittyCats did a turn on me.  Thought I was sending her away?  LOL  Had a chateau give a male like her with stubby tail and blonde streaked whiskers.  She was bred back to her LE father, so the thought of drawing out interesting traits is intriguing.  So I birthed it and kept her.  Growing by two instead of decreasing by one as planned.  LOL

The Imaginimals are cool.  Need some improvement though.  Their movement is not so natural.  Like little automaton kitties.  LOL  But cool.

WK cats did excellent.  One pair gave triplets: female lvl 4 cougar, male lvl 6 Sumatran, male lvl 6 Sumatran.  Sold the dark male and kept the lighter one for myself.  I prefer lighter in tigers.  Put the allowance in food dispenser for them and spent the rest on more breedables. :-)

Sakiya gives her last litter today.  So sad to see her breeding end.  But I did keep a lot of her babies and babies' babies for myself.

Pepi's been swimming too.  :-)

Sucks...

It's been a long weekend of SL sucky performance and now that Monday's here, it's still happening.

Sure do wish they'd learn how to properly manage the grid.

I normally have wonderful Mondays.  One of the perks of being a freelancer.

This Monday is sucking all the way through...wonder if I should even attempt working at all today and just work some 15 hour days later in week instead....

I done...

Well, done buying.  For a bit at least.  My monthly allowance for food and rent will still be there.  For the budgeted amount of animals.  But I hit my financial wall and is a poor breeder again.

I'm just hoping I get food money in next day or two, or else the extras at market will have to be picked up.

Even for the WK, the most affordable of all to feed.  They're tougher to figure out during the slow times, because they cannot be frozen or stored without eating.  I have enough for my 20 allowance for another week, so must do something if my sack in Tuesday's auction does not sell..  They're not included in my monthly game allowance.

Nor are the KC and they're a bit expensive to feed in comparison to BB.  I am just going down to the two breeding megas at a time and what ones I can pet out.

Right now they're hungry, but making them wait to see if I get anything today.  Set out all my saved epics for 500L...special ones are still full price, of course.

Back to breedables...

Been a full four days in RL.  Hubby got extra time off for working 12 days straight and we made the most of it.  The one day we stayed home, the back deck got repainted and some more of the house organized.  We have guests coming to visit for a meal during this week or the next.  They're from China, so we're wanting to make a good impression.  LOL  Could be interesting...not sure how well they speak English and we don't speak Chinese.  And hubby gets to train them.  :-)

We found a farmer's market we hadn't seen before.  Bought some yummy bread from a bakery we never knew existed.  Tried a new coffee shop. Met some wonderful people at the Renaissance Fair, including a few from our Steampunk group.  Had some semi-successful shopping for our attire for the safari trip next weekend.  We're hunting dinos at the zoo.  :-)

Smmubert and I decided to make the Biobreeds stores at our sales yard our 150L special sales areas.  These are the good buy ones that don't quite make our requirements for breeding, nor do they sell quickly, but they're good stuff.  High traited Mavericks and bred out coated Chihuahuas are Smmu's specialties.  Mine are the bred out exotics and 4T dogs.

Our more premium crates will set out at our Camelot spots.

Wanted some color on the sales yard so we have a mix of reptilia coated exotics and verdant and the Xanthous cheetah coated exotics.  They're not priced too easy...we don't mind if they're around for awhile.  :-)

KittyCats boxes were really good this time.  I got a matching mega to the one I have in reserve for later.  My stubby seal coats gave a petite for later.  Still, I'm cutting back.  I have about 20 boxes from my breeding in reserve, so will have something out for sale for a long time.  But going to work on a few pets and finishing the special free editions to pet them and set out for sale.  Do have a set of retired LEs set back in storage.  Love the phoenix edition pets...wish they had teamed up with Biobreeds for a matching pony.  That would have been so cool.

The WK store on sales yard is our 350-500L discount area, but it does have some higher priced and full priced sacks of mine still.  These are ones with future potential for our own use but we're offering for sale still.  I just have the market areas too full to set them out.  I do need to get another market store sometime.  I may do that this week if the sack in Tuesday's Camelot auction doesn't go - it's a doozy, but sales for WK has been super slow there.

The Imaginimals beta is still ongoing.  My beta pair right now look as though they're hoarking up hairballs on my Relto rug.  Poor kitties suffering through the server troubles.  Hope they get the adjustments figured out soon.

My SL Breedable Mood Swings...

Being brought up in the secondary breedable market in Second Life has sort of ruined me.  All this talk of prices and such...we shouldn't need it.  I don't like it and, honestly, would love to just go through and price all my breedables at 150L no matter what.

And I've been seriously wanting to, but still afraid of who will think what.  Think the few years of dealing with a breedable market where you got hate "mail" for underselling and the time I've had the need to price things higher drilled into me just has too much of a hold on me.

But I feel myself changing...really.  And starting to like the game now.

Like Biobreeds, let's use it as an example.

I seriously am wanting to go through and price everything down to 150L.  I won't.  Because, well, some things I want to stay around a little longer, as they're harder to get and the crate or animal may be of the type that I'd like to use it later, not see it go so soon, or pricing it down may make it look less valuable.  I know, that may sound confusing.  But the fact is that in any market, virtual or real, people associate the worth of a product with the price that's marked on it.

Explains why sometimes I'll price something way up there to keep it around a bit longer - and that's the something that actually sells.

So, no, I won't price all things down to 150L but I won't price everything at the top dollar anymore either.  Shooting for something in between.

In BB, the exotic bred out coat market has calmed down, so many of those are down to 500L base price for me.  Right now, however, I have a sale going on to make space for new stuff. 150L on the crates and animals I'm going to heaven and most of the others have a discounted price on them until I do the heavening.  Not sure when...hubby is off work for next four days and we have some outings with friends planned, so if it's too busy, it may be next week.  Or it could be tomorrow if we're home and I'm bored.  LOL

I also realized I have about 100 animals with 0 seeds stuck in storage.  Well, I don't need them.  I've decided that except for a small few, I don't want to keep lives in storage now.  Hoping to have them healed and heavened or sold by the end of the year.

My October auction will be deseeded animals now.  I took out a selection of dogs, ponies, and exotics for the regular panels to heal between now and then.  And decided to give up some of my special epics for the special panels.  I may not make as much lindens with this plan, but hopefully I'll make a few and provide some of the newer breeders with something new.

Other critters:
WK cats - update came through and they seem to love their toys more.  Sales aren't so good, but hope to make enough to load up the food within the next two weeks before it runs out.
Imaginimals - I think my betas are doing good.  LOL I need to read up on them so I can tell!
KittyCats - got the new free kitty from them.  It's cool looking!
PetPeddlers - yep, we're getting ready for the fish now too
Odessey Seahorses - rather than just deleting the three I bought at RFL auction, I got some food and set them out for decoration.  In three weeks, I'm deleting them and starting to breed the PP ones.  Odessey team isn't active and the seahorses in their tanks were dead.  They only live 60 days...that turns me off totally.

Really? I gotta be patient?...

LOL  With the cutback to 100 Biobreeds, now I have to learn how to be patient all over again.  It's not as bad this time, really.  I think working with the KittyCats cycle and now the WK one has helped a lot.  I'm slowly getting used to days like today where there's nothing to check.

It's been good though, especially with the addition of the heaven and hell editions.  Now, the crates I can't use don't bother me.  I welcome the five biochips.  LOL  Funny thing is the borderline crates are the ones who bother me.  Like dogs...I prefer to keep just the 5 traited dogs in certain breeds.  But I get a nice 4T one and think "crap! that one has to stay for breeding later or for sales."  So, I keep it and mourn the loss of 5 biochips now for a few moments.  LOL

The first biochip coat I bought was a male shiba.  For some reason, the system double registered my request and sent me two.  Which kind of screwed me up.  My goal was one male shiba, one male doberman, one male pony of heaven variety, and then maybe the hell pony as an extra.  I had saved enough for four.  (kind of wish I hadn't used some one starter packs early on...may have been able to get a fifth.)

But it's all good.  I have a friend who had 80k of biochips to use so she's reselling hers.  She buys from me a lot, so I made sure to get the dobe the system didn't give me.  I could have ticketed it and they exchange it for me, but decided to keep the extra shiba.  I breed them anyway so it's all good.  I won't be selling mine off for less than they cost me, and I figured they cost me at least 50K lindens each...so my extra one is sitting out for 50000 lindens.  Won't sell, but makes a good show piece for the sales yard.

BB didn't make the heaven or hell hair pass.  Kind of unusual for them.  I really like the hair, so hope it means they held back for some future plans.

Patience aside, I would like to set out more.  Have a good showcasing idea for the salesyard I think would be fun to play with.  But that would mean increasing my allowance, which I cannot do...and I have some serious work to do these next few months...

I did get two imaginimals to play with.  Or to let sit there.  Sadly, not getting time to play with my critters.  But I guess that's a good thing too.

Happy and cutting time....

I'm happy with my ranch...my Biobreeds are down to 100 animals and I think that's going to be my happy spot.  Not playing for sales, mostly just playing for Biochips.  I get a monthly allowance that pays for their food, so no pressure.

Life is busy and oddly, the nighttime auctions are getting harder and harder to attend.  I may be cutting them out.  Maybe just do the special panels via waiting list and come in on the off times to buy a good deal and pick on Lance and Gwen when my schedule allows it.  I still kind of live at Camelot, so it's not like they can't find me.

Finished cutting down my KittyCats boxes.  The lives are about to birth within next few days and when they do, specials will go to storage while many others will be sent away for points.  Just keeping a pair of megas and my stubby tail seal pair going.  I may shop for cheap megas to set out for resale at Camelot though.

When Imaginimals finish the beta testing I'll get a few of those too.

Lemurs, maybe a pair at some point.  I've watched them since development and like them, but tend to be too expensive.  Just may do a pair if I get a script testing area again.

Fish peddlers, maybe, depending on our land and what Smmu and I want to do with it.  If I do, my fish will be betas, seahorses, and squids.

WK - love my cats.  They're fantastic.  But to be honest, due to new information I got last night, they're on probation with me right now.  Waiting to see if they move forward with certain actions towards markets or if they wise up and not force the issue.  If this issue is forced, it also forces me to cheap, cheap, cheap sale mine off.

And that would totally suck.

Breaking news!

The Biobreeds biochip coats are available this Thursday!

And they're 2500 biochips each, which is great for small breeders and solves an issue for me.  I can keep playing the biochips the way I have been and don't have to rethink it all.  Yay!

Traffic up and mesh comments...

It was nice to see a spike in traffic at the market today after my last post.  It was a bit of a shock, and encouraging.

I may put my Sumatra tiger in tonight's auction.  It's out for 10k, but I'll start it at a 5K bid.  Partly because I'm lazy and this is something easy to decide on setting out on the panel.  LOL  Otherwise I'd have to go through things and decide on one I'd be willing to set out for open bid. Like I said, I'm lazy.  LOL

I'm also watching WK comments on sim performance, landlords and mesh.

Yes, mesh messes up a sim, as do surrounds.  Mesh is okay for clothing in SL, bad for building.

I know a few who would argue that but that's their choice.  I just know that LL doesn't know what they think they know about making mesh work, obviously, and that SL uses too many connections to lump in another poorly ran element onto my computer.  And a mesh sim knocks my fps down by 1/2 or more.  A good computer, good viewer and great connection.  Mesh in SL is not for me.

Landlords still want to blame breedable owners for sim performance.  Truth is, the breedables are less of a drag on a sim than other objects.  Your mesh, your tortured prims, your huds, your sexual beds and toys are what drags a sim down.  Clubs are terrible on it.  Too much landscaping brings a sim down.  Often floors cause issues. I've worked with my landlord on a clean homestead testing different elements out...this isn't just my opinion talking.

There are breedables who are questionable though...Amarettos tested high on that sim we tested out.  The Wild Wood kitties had registered high then too.  I loved those and plan on getting into the Imaginimals after beta testing is done.  Hoping they worked out how to make them easier on the sims.

There's a few others I'd like to test.  If I ever get another sim to do the testing on through my landlord again.

It's time...

I spammed 14 breedable groups and no visitors, so that tells me something.  My classifieds are still active so that's not the issue and the stats on them show a lot lower interest.  I think LL's actions have caused a lull in things until people figure out what they want and where and how to get it.

It's okay.  I got things to take care of and a good clear out of my breedables is just what the doctor ordered.

I've turned in 1/2 of my kittycats boxes and will turn in most cats after this next round.  Not sure what I'll do about the b-day kitty yet.  Or the other special one I have.  Don't think I'm willing to pay the 1500L perma-pet fee and try setting them out for sale.  Maybe I'll just stuff them into storage with some other special editions I have to heal and sell later.

WK is promoting sactuary for the ones you can't sell for a 1k minimum.  I applaud their efforts and hope they don't stop.  I know I have some out for 500L and I know others have them out for less, including those I think of as "leaders", so there really isn't a way to stop the cheap selling of animals.  You'd have to have every single seller sticking to the 1k minimum price and that just isn't going to happen.  Everyday people don't have a secondary market mindset, and most just don't have the time to worry about it and adopt such a thing within a game. And not everyone can afford the high cost of a starter cat, so those offering them lower actually encourage more to come in to the breeding program and become future repeat buyers once the addiction settles in.  Still, think the WK management encouraging the 1k minimum and the sanctuary is a very good thing and hope they keep it up.

Still no sales, and I don't plan on any for the day time - it's Tuesday restart day so most smart people stay away and just come in to make sure SL didn't eat any of their stuff after it's all over.  I do lose at least 1/2 of my weekly spending allowance due to this period of no sales, but still will attend the patron auction and perhaps end up with a panel.  Great breeders offering their crates today.

For my sales prices...they're down, a lot.  My pablos and roys are down to 1k now, and I could cut them more but I'll wait.  I heavened a bunch more and cut certain ones down as far as 150L.  There's about 8 more I'll heaven if they don't sell at those cheap prices.

And while they listened and answered on the biochip coats, they did not on the excessive males on exotics.  Still getting too many males.  Think I'm up to 20 new coat exotics males.  In my opinion, it's one of the things that contributed to the exotics short success time.  The exotics are great, but if people can't get a decent ratio of male to female, it cuts herd progress short and people will move to something else more sexually reasonable. :-)

And no - still no word on how much the biochip coats will cost.  I finished my crate supply heavening, keeping only the absolute best.  Even heavened a bunch of Pepi crates.  I'm about 230 crates from the place I need to be for the two I want...if they're the price I think they will be.

And the figures surprised me...I think 5 biochips is good.  But.  If the biochip coats are the price I think they will be, which is all right, then they really are going to cost me twice the amount other breedables haven coats costed me.

I'll still play for heaven points, but this also changes things for me.  I may save money by buying future biochip coats from others after these first few versus breeding to accumulate enough biochips to get my own.

At any rate, my population is dwindling down to a low number...time has come to not breed as many...just not worth it.  Will be down far enough in a week to eliminate one parcel if I like.  Haven't decided yet.  May keep it for building playing and for when starters come out and I want to bulk breed for a few weeks.

hmm...what to do?

Well, I left for three days...over the weekend.  Usually the weekend is my selling time, and this time nada...not one teensy-weensy sale.  And it's been slow with it being the normal slow time, plus a spattering of breeders around me offering the same things for way-too-cheap prices...which really isn't doing them much good either.

We're still in that slow time.  Plus, I think I see this as part of the expected result of LL's reaction to the new banking laws.  Suspected some normal buyers would disappear due to not being able to buy lindens anymore.

So, now I'm not sure of what to hang on to and what to heaven away.  It is something I'll have to think on.  I do know I'll heaven some super fantastic crates, but may wait until they announce what the biochip edition will cost.  If they've positioned the biochip price out of my range, I'll either use biochips for more starter packs or just cut my animals way down to a favorite group of 20-25 animals, which may take a little while.  Still have epics to finish deseeding before they're done.

New breeders need some guidance on Biochips.  I'm beat but need the distraction so I'll try to write something of it here.  No, my dad is not doing well and I don't think my visit did much good.  And when I arrived I found out my favored uncle is on life support, which will probably be pulled within a few days now.  Plus more not so good, and just got home, so totally whipped.

Anywho...

In Biobreeds, you earn 5 biochips each time you send an animal or crate to heaven.  (This basically deletes it from the database, which I support.  Perhaps because I'm married to a programmer and understand this is a good thing.  Getting rid of excess animals also helps the secondary market.)

Right now you can accumulate biochips to buy more packs of Laboradors, Dobermans, Beagles, Shiba Inus, German Shepherds, mixed dog packs, dog treats, the acorn tree to grow the treats yourself, pony packs, pit bulls, rottweilers, and huskies.

You just cannot use your biochips for chihuahuas, miniature pinschers, dalmations or exotics yet.

This is a great improvement since I last looked and it implies they've been working on updating things, which is so good.

To see what you can use your biochips for go to biobreeds.com and click on the catalogue.  If you're signed in, you'll be able to see your current biochip balance in the upper right hand corner of the catalogue.

I have to rez the terminal inworld and click it to sign in to the website.  Not sure if you can sign in directly to the website or not.  I've never asked if I'm doing it wrong or anything, and just used the inworld terminal.  You get the terminal from the free accessories pack.

How fast do biochips accumulate?  Well, let's play a bit with that...

Let's say you breed 100 animals at a time.  And let's say you put four females with each male so that each of your breeding groups consist of 5 animals.

100 animals divided by the five in your breeding groups equals 20 breeding groups.

A female is ready to give a crate every 8 days, and a male can keep up with four females (I can get a male to keep up with five sometimes even, but four is standard so we're sticking with that.)  If I do the math based on that, each group of five creates about 46 crates per year.  We'll round off to 45.

20 groups making 45 crates per year equals 900 crates.  If you're playing for biochips and just the occasional crate sale, let's say you keep 50 of those for sales and yourself, leaving 850 crates you don't need.  That gives you 4250 biochips for the year!

Amazing how quickly 5 biochips add up....
